Is O a good D line coach?

Watching the Saints I don't see it. But I am not that astute at telling the difference.
Please help explain why O is such a hot commodity beyond his excellent recruiting ability and motivational techniques.

He was good at Miami and USC
He is a solid pick up for a host of reasons that have been hammer here already
So you don't like O ?
Who do you like?
And why are the better than O?

No agenda...just looking for some perspective. Thanks for your information.
You're right though, as he has good history. Actually putting a Saints hat on him may have been the wild card to make him not seem so good to me.

you also have to take into consideration that the saints had multiple injuries along the D-line all year..and even with that, the D-line did pretty good.

No, coach O sucks, he recruited elite d-lineman and other players at Miami and USC, won recruiter of the year twice, coached up his recruits into first round players, recruited alot of talent and some future 1st rounders at ole miss. Since he didn't have great success as a head coach means that he is a terrible d-line coach and is guaranteed to get lsu on probation and all kinds of trouble even though he didn't get Miami, USC, and Ole Miss in any trouble with the NCAA. And because a couple of people with no proof are saying he gave the players money and is abusive to them. And he must of fooled sean payton into hiring him as a NFL D-line coach.

Is Pete Carroll a good head coach? I'm watching old Patriot and Jets highlights and I just don't see it.

He's ok, but he doesn't snort da bleaux and beat his heaux.

Lots of sarcasm...but the answers are in there.
Did he improve the Saints D-line or not?

To judge if he would be a good LSU D-line/arse.C/recr. coordinator based on the 1 year improvemnet of a NFL team would be stupid imo

How would he be judged this year for the Saints? That is my question...
His D-line career speaks for itself otherwise.

You can't really judge it is the point. No amount of screaming into Charles Grant's ear is gonna make him quit being a big lazy pussy the year after he got his big contract.

Excellent response! The Saints suckage was self-induced lazy players.
Coach O will be able to light the fire under the young players. GEAUX TIGERS!

And they lost a couple of starters, one before the season and one during I believe. The list of coaches who were mediocre to shite in the NFL, but good in college is long. On top of that historical perspective, Orgeron actually has long history of success in college.
Heck, every team he's been with has put out a DL that was the best in football at the time - and one could argue Ole Miss is no different...but certainly OM has a case to be the best DL in the SEC (and O put that together).

Now you guys are giving me the answers I wanted to hear.
Maybe I just had trouble reading through the sarcasm and pithy responses. After all, this is the rant and I should have expected it.

I think he would be a great d-line coach, with Chavis as DC

Look at film from last year's Saints DL. They never got any pressure on anyone. This year, the pressure on the QB has been very good at times, and solid for most of the year.
Decent improvement with Orgeron coaching with a sucky DC still calling the plays.

Pretty much does that to everybody except Drew Brees.
