I know UT has deep pockets, but as a coach would you not want to go to a program that has all the pieces in place, but just needs a change in approach?
Herman can still recruit in Houston and surrounding areas and hopefully keep the in-state talent here.
...just ready for it to be over, but still enjoy the roller coaster that it has become.

At Texas you're basically just a few boosters' bitch, but you don't have to play a tough schedule really. Outside of OU you should probably run the table every year. Much easier road than the grind in the SEC

I'm not saying it is tough, but Oklahoma State, Baylor, West Virginia, TCU, and Oklahoma isn't a cake walk.

For a coach like Nick Saban, someone who has the universal respect of college football, the University of Texas would present a unique opportunity to win big.
For someone like Tom Herman, a coach with "potential," the politics and backroom nonsense would basically sink you.
Texas cannot succeed until they reel in a big fish and give them complete control.

Yeah, it is comparatively. None of those are physical teams either. Completely different animal

In some ways it is and some ways it isn't.

So UT is the best job in the country when they want Bamas coach, but not when they want LSUs coach.
