Is Gonzo really a better OC option than Crowton?

Replacing Crowton with Gonzales really doesn't seem like an upgrade or make any sense. Gonzales as never been an OC before. Why in the world would we hire someone to learn on the job. His style of offense (assume Urban Meyer style) does not fit with what Miles likes to do at all. We could see the same clashing that Miles and Crowten had. Or maybe Miles wants Gonzo to be a "yes man" and knows he can have that with a first time coordinator. Either way I don't like it. Gonzo also was not impressive at all as the WR coach this season. If he's promoted, I don't expect much of an improvement offensively. There is too much at stake next year to risk it on a questionable hire. This is a very curious move if true.

I really hope Miles gets a pro style OC that has the same philosophy as him. No more mix and match schemes.

Haha! Waiting on the picture of Gonzo from the Muppets to pop up. Won't be long.

Perhaps he's not a read-option guy, and that's why he left Florida. I am far more comfortable with a first-time OC than I would be with a first-time HC.
Les has done a pretty good job of correcting the problems within his staff before (Chavis for MalEveto, and Frank Wilson for ?). I'll trust him to make a decision worth $3.75 million.

Naming Gonzo makes me nervous. LSU promoted from within on Def in 2008...remember how that worked out?
Besides, why not hire a big time OC? Gonzo would still be on the staff.
