I'm glad he's staying

I know many people thought we could get the equivalent of an Urban Meyer or Nick Saban, but the reality is that for every Urban Meyer you have 2 or 3 Ron Zooks. Look at how many lousy coaches Notre Dame has hired in the last 30 years (all of them, except for Lou Holtz). We could have
ended up with a guy who was no different from Rich Rodriguez, Charlie Weiss, Tyrone Willingham, Lane Kiffin, etc... All of whom were hot
commodities when they were hired. And we all laughed at Auburn when they hired that guy from Iowa State who went 3-9 and 2-10 in his two
years at ISU.

Guess what I'm trying to say is that the hot coaches don't always pan out, and the 2nd tier hires sometimes do. Les was more the latter than the former when we hired him.

LSU will be loaded next year and the offense will have a ton of talent. Les has shown that he prepares his team well, runs a clean program,
recruits like a muther, and says goofy things. He also has clock management problems and is a tad too loyal to his players and assistants. Now that he has turned down the Michigan job, he's all ours. I don't think Alabama, Texas, Notre Dame, etc... will appeal to him, and Michigan probably won't embarrass themselves again by trying to get him if their job comes open some time down the road. All in all, Les is the best man for the LSU job.
