You could get probably go get Mullen, which would be essentially a continuation of Meyer's system and program. Certainly not a bad thing considering Meyet's success, and Mullen's youth and energy.

OR

Since Florida is very well stocked in terms of talent and standing right now, would you just go find the best coach possible (you'd have very good options)? That would include Jim Harbaugh, who would probably be a superstar in the SEC with his style of football and recruiting skills. That list would probably also include Stoops, Peterson, and Gruden.

I would quietly gauge Harbaughs interest first, if it was there go after him hard. If he wanted to go to the pros or wait for Michigan instead I would get a deal done with Mullen quickly and keep the status quo in Gainesville.

If I was the AD I would go after the following coaches in order until I found someone that was interested.

1) John Gruden
2) Bob Stoops
3) Dan Mullen
4) Jim Harbaugh
5) Mike Leach
6) Bobby Petrino
7) Chris Peterson
8) Kyle Wittingham
9) Will Muschamp
10)Gus Malzahn

Go after the guys you know that can win in the SEC. There's no better test than that. If they don't come then go after other high profile guys.

Why does no one ever talk about Patterson? Is he married to TCU or something?

I would make one call - to Fayetteville. You can get Petrino for about half of Urban's salary, and he could win with Brantley and the current offense. Petrino would be scary with FL's talent.

Mullen and meyer have similar "systems" but if you noticed ever since Mullen left UF Florida's offense took a major hit. Tebow's senior year was a large drop off in offensive production from his junior year (with Mullen) And with the loss of tebow and mullen, the offense has turned into a clusterfrick of shite (desparation leading to Jordan Reed at QB??) Obviously any offense that loses a player of tebows caliber will hurt, but what the offense did this year was pathetic. Mullen put up an impressive record (berrer than UF and even beating them head to head) with talent that doesnt even come close to Florida's. IMO Mullen is a lock for the UF head coaching job assuming he wants to go there

Interview:

Dan Mullen,
Kyle Wittingham,
Bobby Petrino,
Pat Fitzgerald,
Al Golden and
Gus Malzhan

In that order and see which one I liked the best. Mullen and Wittingham get the nod because they are more of a continuation of the current system.
