I can see it now...Saban with a little tear running down his cheek (sniff, sniff) saying how glad he is to finally be "home". (Much like Petrino's sincerity when calling the hogs.)

If Saban doesn;t go to LSU this year, he will retire at Alabama.

Inside info? The SECWest is going to be a meat grinder unlike the top heavy situation that existed while he was at LSU. He could OWN the Big East, be in a BCS game every year and have a better shot at the NC there than in the SEC.

Scoop,
Do you still think he's coming to LSU this year? What are you hearing to make you think that Miles to Michigan is not done?

This all sounds more like wishful thinking than anything else.
Unlike all of you, I have relatives who come in to weekly contact with Saban and he doesn't appear to be anything other than happy. Quit making assumptions based on wishes.

Just calling it like I see it. He looks beat down and tired. I'm sure he would be telling Alabama boosters that he hates it there.

Not boosters, oddly enough. My brother works at the marina near his house and sees him at church too, and looks to be in pretty good shape.

Alabama is one of the worst, pressure cooker jobs in the country. It has one of the most delusional fanbases that expect every new coach to be the second coming of Bryant. It has one of the most vicious press pools in the country led by mental giants like Paul Finebaum. These guys held the man up on a pedestal when he got there and were ready to run him out of town after the ULM game. You will NEVER have a long term coach there because the fanbase, boosters and media will not accept NEXT YEAR being any less than last year. Saban will not retire there and will be gone at the first good opportunity. Then Bama will be back to finding the NEXT great coach to hold to the "BEAR STANDARD" and join the proud class of Bama coaches to be ruined by the Bryant legacy.

When Saban left for Alabama, his original sights were set on going to WVU. Rodriguez was UA's first choice but he chose not to take the UA job. If Rodriguez had taken the UA job, Saban would already be at WVU. If Rodriguez leaves for Michigan, Bama fans can say good-bye to Saban.

Can you back this up Beinvenu? Any support at all to your statement that Saban wanted to go to WVU?

Maybe. It's possible. You know Saban is probably kicking himself in the arse for quitting in Miami last year and going to Bama. Had he stayed and gotten fired in Miami this year, he could go have had a number of jobs to go to.
In that case, I'm sure people here would gladly take him back had Les gone to Michigan.

I think if Miles goes to Michigan, "this year" then there is a chance he will return to LSU. If Miles stays I think Saban will stay here as long as he is allowed and I think BAMA has finally realized that they are going to have to leave someone alone and let them do their job. If Saban can not fix the problems at Alabama it can't be done.

When did they start "leaving him alone"? Seriously, the man can't seem to take a shite without some Bama booster or media person questioning it. Bama will NEVER change and that is a fact. We are already hearing rumors of boosters being back to old tricks and it's obvious that Saban is getting desperate to meet the unreasonable expectations of the Alabama faithful. The rumors of him putting feelers out for LSU only goes to show he wants out. He looks like he's aged a decade since getting to Alabama and seems to be losing it a little. I just don't see him staying at Alabama.

Oh he's here until we decide he can leave...don;t doubt that.

Do Billy Joe Jim Bob and his retarded cousins have Sabans palace surrounded with shotguns and hound dogs?

Damn straight!!
You do know that someone tried to throw a brick and hit his front door after the ULM loss.
DNA tests came back and allowed the police to go out and apprehend the suspect. They brought him to the station and asked, "why did you throw a brick at coach Sabans front door", and JPW said, "I was throwing it at his window and missed." They knew they had their man.
