coach the game tomorrow and do you think there is any way he has done much home work on this game and gotten his players prepared?

first, he has accepted the offer it is a done deal. in a perfect world he would never be allowed to coach for LSU again. sadly we'll get the zone one more time and probably get shredded.

No, he should be fired in the am. I think he has done more injustice to this team thatn anyone. it is obvious that he has been job hunting for the last few weeks and the defensive play calling was evidence of this. i would fire his arse in the am.

They haven't been prepared for the past few weeks. I noticed at the Ole Piss game that he immediately went to the tunnel after the clock hit 0:00. Meanwhile, the rest of the team was going through the post-game rituals. I thought that was strange but maybe I'm reading too much into it.

he won't be fired, because if they fire him, they'll have to fire miles as well

I agree. The last good defensive call he made was the blitz on JPW that caused the fumble. Ever since his head has been in Lincoln and he has cost us a special season.

Tom Osbourne having only two guys to pick from for this job - one of which is basically a son/best friend and former player and the other - Pelini, who is 1-0 all-time at UN. I dunno...if I am a Husker fan, I am stamping my foot and getting a bit flustered. This is a program that arguably has two of the best teams in college football history in the '84 and '95 programs. This is a school that you KNEW was going to line up and demolish the opponent - be it a top 10 or not - to the tune of 400 yards rushing. The game has changed, but why can't Nebraska do what it once did? Are the spread/read option and newer styles of fastbreak football more effective than having an athletic qb, ox of a FB, and a stud TB to line up and run behind a 6'5" 320 pound average offensive line and just win?

So, I question Dr. Tom. I wonder how he forgets that he is the AD at one of the five most prestegeous football schools in the land. All you can come up with to replace one of the lost Baldwin brothers are two guys who have about 2 years combined college HC experience? I knew that Dr. Tom wanted to find a guy who had belonged to the program in some way or another, but it's a safe assumption that Pelini is a Buckeye. Gill is turning around Buffalo, but what else could it have done but go up? I'm just really surprised that other mediocre candidates like Paul Johnson weren't given extensive interviews. Why not bring Frank Solich back? Better yet, why not hold interviews like open tryouts?

Pelini is being trusted by a couple of million faithful to steer a ship to success and do it like Doc Tom did it. Good luck, Bo. Good luck, Tom and good luck Nebraska. I do think you missed the boat badly, but good luck with a coach who won't recruit well in a state where you must recruit to compete.

Pelini will be a huge Mike Archer Type Bust at NU.
