If Miles does go to UM, will their fans

have enough patience for him to "turn it around"? They have already had three bad years under RR and Miles will not be inheriting a "loaded cupboard" up there like he did at LSU behind Saban. Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan State will be hard to overtake in 1-2 years and I'm not so sure of Miles' ability to "rebuild" a program. Saban appears to be the master of that.

He seems to have improved on his record for three consecutive seasons.

True, but improving and rebuilding are too very different things.

There are some UM fans who truly believe Les Miles will have an 11 win season next year. I shite you not.

I dont wish bad things for Miles if he goes up there, but just saying he may be in over his skill set given the circumstances

It will be interesting to see if he goes.
Everyone rags on the LSU fans (probably deservedly so) for their impatience....let's see how UM fans fare with Les trying to rebuild their program...

yes. they were 5-6, 5-6, & 3-8 prior to his arrival. by year three he won 9 games. his final year he was 7-5

his saving grace at Oklahoma State was beating Oklahoma. Otherwise, he was pretty much average. The stakes and expectations will be considerably higher at UM than OK.State. Plus, I'm not so sure he has the talent to run with the other guys up there. It will take 3 years of solid recruiting (top 10 classes) to get it going.

Michigan will never be a great team again. The power in college football has permanently shifted to the South and to a lesser extent, the West. Kids don't want to play in the snow in a sorry arse conference that has no hope of ever having another national champion. Les would be foolish to leave a team on the brink of multiple SEC and national championships to go to a stagnant, has been hole that will be the death of him in 3 years, just like it killed a great coach like Rich Rod. Its not the coach, its the situatuion. Look at Ware and Barksdale, they lived in the barren north, but had the intelligence to recognize they'd never make it to the pros at a place like Michigan or tOSU. Les is too smart to leave a national championship team only to go to a dead arse end.

i disagree. sure, they can't hang with the SEC, but that isn't who michigan plays against. michigan doesn't have the talent that LSU has yet, they don't play the talent we play either. bowl season is the exception.

that's a stretch.
