If LSU hired Aranda and UF hired Napier, who would have the advantage?

It those are the choices, I’m going with Aranda. Hire Mullen or another great OC and ride...

Gotta recruit. It’s a legit concern with Aranda

It’s both hilarious and utterly depressing that most of our fan base has accepted that these are the two options

He just beat (and completely outcoached) OU, who out recruits him. Also, it’s harder to recruit at Baylor than OU. LSU isn’t hard to recruit.

Gotta be an elite coach. Legit concern for Napier.

I haven’t accepted that, but this is the current conversation unfortunately.

Was Saban an elite coach in 2000

No one knows how any hire will do

I want tough hard nosed football with players who put team before self

Throw Riley in the mix with those two but who else do you think is realistic (and better) besides those 3?

I would easily take a shot to see what Lane Kiffin could do with LSU’s recruiting advantages before both of those two and it isn’t even remotely close.

Fickel
Campbell
Cristobal
Holgerson
Gundy

And if none of those worked out I’d throw the bank at Kelly, who I don’t particularly like but I unquestionably think is a better HC than either of those two.

That’s assuming crazy pipe dreams like Rhule, Carrol, or Meyer can’t be pulled.

So yeah there’s a long list to go through before I get to an 11-9 HC record or someone that hasn’t won the Sun Belt outright.

Any coach who recruits better has a huge advantage period and if you don't recruit at top 3 level it is very hard to win championship.

My concern would be having Napier, a strong LA recruiter that knows LA, going to UF and pulling some LA talent there in addition to Saban at Bama.
