I was talking about non-football/job related perks, such as schools for their children, distance from family, other general 'quality of life' metrics. A lot of people seem to forget these when considering coaching hires and let's face it, BR and LA aren't exactly cream of the crop. I do agree LSU is a top 10 program though, especially in the last decade.

No I wasn't, just saying that LSU is not the end all be all of college coaching gigs.

Some people only care about winning, and they work so hard at it that they don't notice that they live in a shitty town. Things look pretty good from a pedestal and the sidelines of a full stadium of drunk lunatics after a victory.

That's assuming the coach is from the south, what if they like cold weather? Obviously he will have the cash for private schools, just pointing out a few factors off the tip of my head.

Like you said about schools, they can afford to pay people for that. Guarantee you there are just as many people who like cold weather as those who hate 100% humidity and 95 degree temps in the summer.

If you think Baton Rouge is anything close to a special place to live, your world travel experience is beyond limited.
Baton Rouge has one of the highest murder/crime, illiteracy, pollution and poverty rates in the USA.
MI is not only his alum but also has the most wins of any college football program. LSU does not quite have as much "tradition".
