aTm offense averaged 455 yds/gm ranked 30th

LSU offense averaged 387 yds/gm ranked 77th

So they averaged 68 yds/game more than LSU

scoring avg for atm is 35.2
" " " LSU is 27.6

While I see what he "thinks" is a huge difference, I think we can ALL agree that a minimal increase in our qb efficiency would get us 70 yds/gm......easily

I don't see where that 68 yds equals a "great" offense as compared to ours.

Now let's look at time of possession which is what DC's love because it lets their D remain fresh

LSU ranked 9th at 33 min/gm

aTm ranked 122nd (out of 125 teams) at 26 min/gm

LOL Chief.....have fun with that sorry arse defense being on the field longer than yours at LSU.As bad as qb production was, your defense didn't get it done when needed.

Because LSU runs a shite ton, that's where the difference was made up.

LSU rushing ranked 23rd in NCAA (A&M #82)= your time of possession differential

A&M Passing was 13th in the nation last year while LSU was 109 out of 128 schools. Running is great if you can pass to keep opposing defenses honest...or unless you are Oklahoma or Nebraska of the 80s.

You can sugar coat it all you want, LSU needs Chavis more than he needs LSU. He may fail there if they don't get a run game, but he's getting paid a lot of money. Now LSU is stuck trying to find someone of his caliber to hold down the fort while Les tries to learn how to coach QB's.

WTF? you bash us for no pass, yet bash them for no run? geez, they are noth flawed on offense.
Yet, I will bet you a dollar to a donut that our increase in passing game will reate more yardage than an increase in their running game. Passes by nature gain more ydg than runs.

There's no sugar coating genius, time of possession is EXACTLY that...no matter what, it's how long your defense is not on the field, period!

read my post again...I said we can all agree a minor increase in our passing game would make up for 68 yds/gm. Their running game would not make up tyg/gm, it would take away from the passing ydg.

KEVIN SUMLIN WILL NEVER CONCERN HIMSELF WITH THE RUN GAME!

In just puts to bed the myth that their offense next year will be so damn great compared to LSU.

Give me 28 pts, win time of possession, great running game, no turnovers with 350 total yds/gm ANY DAY It keeps the opposing teams offense off the field. And you guessed it, a fresher defense.

ATM will not have that with their offensive philosophy.

I don't think Chavis actually left for that reason. Just rumor and hearsay. All garbage.

You speak of this like it's so easy to do for LSU....if this was that easy, you'd think it would have been done already the last 7 years outside of Mettenberger. The point here is that if UGA doesn't kick him off the team, LSU is shite in the passing game for 7 straight years. That shows an inability to be competitive through the air consistently year after year. Honestly, I think it'd be easier for Sumlin to put a few more touches to his run game than it would be for LSU to figure out how to recruit a QB that has the ability to study a play book.
