As trashy as many of our programs are, I truly don't believe any of them are trashy enough to hire Briles in the current climate. Except LSU and Auburn obviously. They're definitely trashy enough.

I'm not pushing for him to be hired. I do think he has too much baggage to be the head coach currently. However, I have seen how the media likes to run with things before they are fact. once the dust settles in Waco I think we will have a better idea what happened.
FWIW I'm way more willing to over look Petrinos side fricking than a coach like Art if he wasn't witch hunt by the media.
I think he could be hired in some capacity kinda like Saban does with disgraced former coaches.

well we all know espn has never been wrong. I'm not saying it is or isn't true. clearly no one will hire him until facts come out. Once they do if ESPN lied then eventually he will get another chance, if ESPN didn't lie then he will be done forever.

well its 2 in the morning and I'm not a lawyer so I'm not going to burn the midnight oil reading over court documents of a coach that has no chance of being our next head coach.

Well for the record he was actively involved in a systemic cover up scheme spanning multiple sexual assaults under his watch and literally the only people saying otherwise at this point are people like Ken Starr who lost their job over it and various media outlets on the take for his agent trying to help him get a new job.
And between you and me, I know some particulars related to the case for let's say not work related reasons (it's for work) and it's going to get worse for him before it gets better so find someone else!

He was never on the LSU radar, even the consultant stuff seemed like a pretty big stretch.
guys with personal baggage like LK and petrino are more tolerable than Art. He isn't joe pa level bad but its not very far off.

people are throwing fits over LK and petrino coming up as possible names. I have a feeling they will brush it aside though like most things when you hire someone like those guys.
I do think many people wouldn't look past Arts sins. Baylor seems to just turn people bad when you have this and the basketball thing from years back.

I'll be honest. I know this would be extremely unpopular and cause a huge uproar but if i were LSU and Herman turned me down. I'd try to find a way to convince the fanbase that Petrino is ok. The motherfricker can coach and adultery is a far cry from the stuff we're talking about.

if we can't have herman or Jimbo. I think Petrino is the last of the top tier we know they can win for sure guys. He has job hopped but that doesn't concern me. He isn't going anywhere after LSU if we were to hire him. His personal baggage is whatever, I think he is pretty smart so he probably learns from mistakes so i doubt he would put his side piece in a state job again. If he really wants his side girl to have a job we have plenty of companies that could hire her and it not be on the state dime.

these buyouts can be worked out. Also considering how much we pay our coaches it wouldn't be a problem for the TAF to come up with the money.
Also im not aware of Petrino having any strong ties to Grantham so we likely would retain most of our D coaches which are a major strength of our program.
