With all the NFL openings, college openings, and signing day around the corner, we would be seriously screwed if Miles left to Michigan at this point. Urban Meyer helped Florida tremendously by announcing when he did.

It is funny to look at the names mentioned in that thread...

I actually think that Peterson may be the only "high-end" coach in play now.

I no longer think that Gary Patterson will leave TCU. Headed to AQ conference in a year, big BCS win this year...no reason to leave.

Obviously Muschamp is not in play now. Petrino is locked up. Dan Mullen just signed a new contract and was quoted after the game as saying he has no plans to leave Starkville.

Alleva, if he is smart, has contacted the agents of Peterson, Mullen, Stoops, etc.

If I had to place money on it, I bet LSU ends up with either Tuberville, Sumlin or Edsall.

Edsall just got hired at Maryland.

Ehhhh, Don't know how I'd like that.

I don't see him leaving. Why would he? This is just like the Gruden talk. His name gets mentioned for every job.

Paterson isn't leaving. I don't think we could pay what he will be making at TCU.

After seeing the coaches that have been getting hired recently, I really hope Les Miles stays.

The committee has already discussed if Miles leaves and they are prepared to go after Pelini and Saban. Those are their first 2 choices as of 2 weeks ago.

gary patterson has a senior laden team. he has peaked at TCU. i know they are moving to the big east, but hes in rebuild mode as of right now

and LSU can match what TCU can pay. no way they are going to pay him >$4M

Few big names available.. but mostly pipe dreams and guys that come with attached baggage.

- Peterson/Patterson (pipe dreams)
- Leach (baggage)
- Whittingham (meh)
- Jimbo (doubt he's going anywhere)

What about guys like Gundy or Bielema (Wisconsin). I would fricking cry if Tubby was hired.

Time to let it go dude. Not gonna happen. They just built a $13 million dollar student-athlete academic building. They are moving to the Big East where they should cake walk to a BCS game every year and BTW, LSU endowment (system wide) is $554 million while TCU's is $1.1 billion.

Come again? What committee and how do you know any of this? I assume you are just BSing.

I don't want Pelini and Saban ain't leaving and is old and nearing retirement.

I honestly think if Miles leaves were are screwed. Paterson stays, Peterson may not be that great -- hard to tell, Pelini is a hot head that has to be looking forward to skulldragging the Big 10...

Watch it be some crap like Malzahn or Mike "Booger Sugar" Stoops.

I'm sure Skip already called Alleva and told him to rip up Miles' old contract and give him a new 5 year, $10 million/year contract.

I just threw up in my mouth after reading this statement.

You try too hard to be clever. It's not working. Stick to blatant bashing. Sarcasm doesn't work for you.

In my opinion:

Homerun Hires:
(1) Paterson
(2) Bob Stoops (I think he would leave OU for a change of scenery)
(3) Dan Mullen (will never happen since he just signed new deal)
(4) Chip Kelly

Good Hires:
(1) Peterson
(2) Jimbo Fisher (will never happen)

Concerns Me Hires:
(1) Tubs
(2) Malzahn
(3) Sumlin
(4) Charlie Strong
(5) Kirby Smart

If we have to make a hire, and that's a big if, I say go after Dan Mullen.

Agree. He ain't going anywhere though. If UM fired RR a month ago and Miles left in that timeframe (before Mullen signed a new deal) then I would have said he would do it. To late now though.

Let me say, however, I hope that Miles stays....and gets a new OC.
