Austin as a city is different than HC of UT. HC is not hip, look at MB. Dude has saddles and raw all over his office. He embraces the Western culture. Austin has a lot of progressives but the admin of UT is tapping into wealth all over the state. Austin is an outlier and UT is bigger than the city.

What have I said that is wrong? Austin as a Capital is the center of politics more so than night clubs and artist community as far as the HC of Texas goes. Being the flagship university and seated in the capital makes UT a more political job than TAMU. By enlarge BMD admire the comboy culture and emulate it, ie boots and hats. Mack has embraced that aspect of UT better than some before him and it has served him well. I really do not think what I am saying is even debatable.

Where do you think this "wealth" lives? On cattle ranches?
Heck no, they live in downtown condos in the major cities or they live in suburban McMansions.

This job search is a mess. Whoever gets it will have to do so much more than coach football, which is not easy for a good football coach to do. Coaches coach, politicians politic, etc.

Hello. That is why I am telling you guys they will narrow the search beyond these silly wish lists. The truth is that Saban can come in and hold court cause his is GOAT. No one else can do what he could. Texas would meet his demands. Everyone else is going to have to learn fast how things work in Austin.
