Miles already has his guy. I'm sure his guy is currently employed, and as such, has to continue to recruit for his current school. Once LSU is done with their bowl game, he will announce the changes to the staff and all will be a little better knowing that LSU will be going into next season with a new D cood. So all this talk about potential candidates is water under the bridge. The new d cood has already been chosen. I slept at a Holiday inn express last night, so I know what I'm talking about.

And, now, dawn breaks once again on the Lunatic Fringe of the LSU Nation.

It's painfully obvious he's giving one of them a chance to secure the job.

Sometimes, inferring information is not very difficult at all:

I will look at and evaluate any considerations beyond this bowl game very quickly.

There really shouldn't be anything left to consider for these guys. They've failed time and time again.

quote:

Asked if he was being pressured to make changes, Miles said “No. Not at all.”

Hmmmm...sounds like he is adamant on his way. Which, has been proven not to work without a great staff.

quote:

No,” Miles said emphatically. “The time to evaluate the year is after we’re done playing.

Seems to me that he's going to give his defense a chance.

If getting our asses beat by GT means making a coaching staff change, then I'm all for it. It's better for the long term.

On the other hand, when given a MONTH to prepare for the most basic offense in college football and we stop a far less-talented team------the phenomenon of the Malveto stays.

That would= 8-4 next year AT BEST. Most likely, that would mean 5-6 losses.

You do know it is possible to make several inferences from Miles' statements, don't you? IF you believe your inference is the only possible one, you need to take your meds and go back to bed. You may feel better when you wake up, but that is unlikely.

Why would he not name a new DC for next year before the bowl? It would help in recruiting, add some fire to the players' attitudes, re-energize the fan base, and we'd get one BEFORE everyone else hires them away.

Who's going to be left after the bowl game. Hell, he'll probably wait until after signing day. What candidate would be left then? We're going to be stuck with keeping either Mallory or Peveto (not both) for the DC or we'll get someone on the cheap that no one has ever heard of......like we did with Miles.

Miles has shown this year he needs a great staff to win. He had that in Pelini and Crowton/Fisher.

I notice you have not sacked up and signed my thread, since you are so convinced. Magnum would have the balls to sign. If you do not sign, you are a disgrace to moustaches everywhere.

Whoa now, a lot can change in the world of college football. I'm not that convinced.

However, it is dumb to wait IMO.

I would piss my pants if that were true. Especially about Tenuta.

There a lot of LSU fans that are acting just like Terrell Owens. They are so paranoid that Les is having meetings with Mallory and Peveto discussing which one will be the sole DC.

Wonderful. Moustache is back to carefully critique and then commence to bitching about the new DC.

Moustache, you need to sign in Hot Carl's thread.

Prominentwon,

Is it so bad to think that before the bowl game is a better time to re-engergize the program with a great hire for DC to help garner back some respect?

Yes, I'll admit I'm a little worried that Miles may have trouble firing his friends. I would have trouble doing that.

A lot can change in college football, so maybe we will or maybe we wont' get a new DC.

Besides, how can you not bitch about the DC performance this year? You of all people being a smartass to me. You thought you were fricking hilarious quoting me in your sig quote, didn't you?

Well, who turned out to be right? Sometimes being realistic is perceived as negativitiy.

Surely you can answer this for yourself. Just suppose the DC he has an agreement with is currently employed and has a commitment to prepare said current employer's team for a bowl game. Don't you think that future LSU DC is possibly constrained from talking about his future job while still employed currently?

I agree we would all be energized (players, recruits, etc too) if the announcement was prior to the bowl game. IF he hired someone not currently employed it is more likely he would announce before the bowl game. So, don't you even fathom the idea he may have an agreement in place with someone currently employed? At least 2 people that have been mentioned ARE currently employed.
