Miles had a professional conversation with his alma mater and former employer out of respect for the institution and the people who run it, because they asked his advice. Any normal person should be able to decipher this and understand this.

Knew what...They obviously did not know about what happened in the phone conversation. All they knew is that they talked about it. So then why are you flustered about it. Miles has come out and said what he did. There is no underlying conspiracy here. So relax
