I guess if your gonna be a coach its best to be on the Offense

rather than on the defensive side. Have one or two good years of offensive play calling at a lower to mid range FBS school and you'll be able to cash in 
Scott frost, willie taggert, chad morris just to name a few. The defensive minded coordinators such as stoops and venables who have coached at the big time level for a while are getting passed by the Offensive minded guys.

totally agree. just funny because some of the best coaches in college were defensive coaches: Saban, Carrol, b.stoops but i can understand fans wanting to have a guy that can score 50 a game.

Defense wins championships. Bellichick, Saban, Bob Stoops, Garry Patterson, Pete Carroll, etc. all come the defensive side. In my book, a HC has to have many leadership skills, but winning starts with defense in football.

That is because:
Good offense = a good system
Good defense = years of good recruiting
ADs want to hire the guys with a system, because the guys with good recruits could simply be thriving off the talent some other dude put together.
