Was the coaching rumor mill this crazy or crazier 3 years ago? This time the chaos started a lot earlier (Saban didnt announce until Christmas Day). Also, LSU did not have a HC and DC on the verge of being offered HC jobs at other schools. I think the names being vollyed around this time for LSU are also bigger than they were 3 years ago.
Having said that I believe this year takes the cake over '04-'05.

Agreed...but the rumors ended up being true FWIW
