If Jimbo doesn't take the LSU job, he is not innocent in these circumstances. It's not just his agent working a better deal for 2 years in a row right after the ink drying on the one signed in Jan 2015.

There are multiple ex-players, acquaintances, and coaches who have known for awhile that Jimbo wants/wanted this job.

Let's see what happens.

In this case, by him not politely dismissing the overture we've made to him.

What little I'm seeing is that he makes less than $4 million a year there, so if the figures we're hearing is right, he's being offered a raise of over 2 mil (and possibly up to doubling his current pay). Sounds like we asked him "what would it take for you to come", he threw out some big numbers, and we're meeting them. Keep in mind we're also competitive on the field right now, it wouldn't be a massive rebuilding project.

He's also being offered the chance to retain probably the best defensive coordinator in the game, at a premium payscale. This covers both the hole in his own scheme (he's an offensive guy), and the problem he faced at Fla St (he couldn't retain assistants because they wouldn't pay to keep them).

It really sounds like this is the jackpot any coach (and agent) dreams of, like we haven't seen since Ohio State fired Tressel and snapped up Urban Meyer. I can't see Sexton allowing him to refuse this... if what we're offering is legit.
