I find it amazing we haven’t had more recruits decommit. I think it says a lot about the current staff. They seem to be holding the class together.

Are they hinting to the recruits who they expect to be the new head coach or which coaches will be retained?

It’s a good question. We also have like 14 commits so not that many to lose. I’m sure the allure of PT and good NIL still trumps whoever the coach ends up being at a school like LSU

I remember frank saying they called all the major commits before the announcement. Is it possible they signed some sort of NIL contract? Or is frank just working his arse off to keep them committed knowing that's his best path to staying on staff

Because recruiting is part of the duties of the people still on staff and getting paid, even if they may not—or even likely won’t—be retained by the next staff. They are professionals and know that their chance of getting a new job or being retained will be greatly diminished if they stop recruiting. If anything, they ramp their efforts up.

And recruiting matters less and less as it refers to the HC. They are committing to the university, the promise of a really good HC and position coach, no matter who it is. But more importantly, the bag. And they can always change their minds at the last minute if they for some reason hate the new HC or their position coaches for whatever reason. But we have an advantage in Louisiana with Louisiana recruits as we have already been paying them NIL money while they’re in high school would have to be repaid if they wind up going elsewhere.

Mississippi has a law preventing that, which is a big reason Lane would prefer LSU to Ole Miss.
