Hopefully Iowa State will really highlight Auburn's mistake

speedy, Iowa State is like Miss State, is just too tough to win there..
Not enough players, the big boys take the elite players, and Iowa State gets the left overs...Like Baylor etc..

They've never been to a major bowl, and have lost two-out-of-nine of the bowl games they've played. Their first bowl game was the 1971 Sun Bowl when they were beaten by LSU.

Dan McCarney was doing a decent job of winning there. He won 7 or more games in 5 of his last 7 years and took ISU to a bowl game 5 times during that span.
Its not hard to see that ISU is worse off today than it was before Chizik took over. He did nothing to improve their program. Nothing
BTW, Earle Bruce coached there 5 years before going to Ohio State and he was able to win 8 games in each of his last 3 years at ISU. A good coach can win there.

Buffalo has been in the bottom ten perpetually. Gill has done something with that program that nobody thought possible. Buffalo was harder to win at.
