Chip also went all in on Jennings (the one that couldn't hack it anywhere) and left us with Hobbs. Helf did identify Mariota and Herber. Fact is Helf coached up Hendicks at BSU (two time all conference), Andrew Walters at ASU, and his stint at CU was when he turned 32. Both Chip and Koetter were effusive in their praise about Helfrich and his football mind. He's just not head coaching material.

I'm a big Darron Thomas fan from his time here. A lot of fans are meh about him because he'd have scrambling room and would never take it but fact is, in our losses to Auburn and LSU, he was the only guy on offense doing anything.
That being said, he benefited from HUNH and Chip's playcalling.
Oregon has had the worst play calling post Chip I've ever seen. I believe it was the Nebraska game this year where we did a PLay action on 4th and Long with the game on the line. Just terrible.

IIRC, they ran PA on 4th & >10 for their last offensive play vs Oregon State. It really blew my mind.

Phil Knight will get Chip Kelly back to Eugene.

I wonder what the ceiling salary for a HC hire would be for Oregon right now?
You would have to think it could be really high.

A lot of Oregon's recruits started following Temple's recruiting coordinator EJ Barthel on twitter who played at UMASS and Rutgers. So, Rhule, Schiano, Chip Kelly and Don Brown are connections.
