He's be inheriting Aranda

I'd hope so, but I don't think that's a slam dunk either

slam dunk as in aranda might leave or that aranda isnt a slam dunk with his abilities?

Apologies, I meant he year after Winston won it all, as that tends to be the argument around here

Right, so he recruited and coached Winston. All due props.

He also recruited and coached that roster, he gets credit for all that.

I just think it should be discussed what all his other teams have done. Winston's follow up team limped through a ton of games and got blown out in the playoff.

Every other Jimbo team has multiple losses despite top 5 talent.

is that worth 7 mil?

Hopefully he means Aranda leaving.

If Aranda doesn't stay for Jimbo, idk why he'd stay for Orgeron or anyone else.

Anyone that's confident O can make all the right hires is just being optimistic. He's never done anything to make us think he can go out and get these top coordinators.

I don't know if Aranda wants to stay.

Obviously Aranda is a slam dunk coach

all I know is that beyond our top 2 choices, I think our other options pretty much suck. In that case, I'd rather Ogeron and keeping the staff intact.

This always seems to get back to O vs Jimbo. I think once you get passed him, O is not nearly the disaster you folks seem to think he is.

His worst season at FSU is 9 wins.

And yes, he's worth 7M for way more reasons than you just conveniently listed.

From what I understand, he and O are close and that's a big reason he came to LSU.

That's a totally fair criticism.

Besides Bama, what other teams dont have bad losses?

Bama is the #1 recruiter. Are the #2-5 teams' coach not worth a high price tag?

Why are O supporters so sure he keeps the staff intact? A month ago Aranda was his boss. We currently don't have a real OC. You honestly think he can steal Lane Kiffin?

There seems to be all these absolutes with O that I don't think are absolutes. Meanwhile, tons of pessimism about Fisher. Makes no sense. Especially when you look at accomplishments.

Well we just fired ours for not winning enough based on the talent, so you tell me

I've never heard this

If you can provide some sort of proof I'll gladly concede on him keeping Aranda.

I think Aranda would stay based on what some people in the program have said/known.

Offensively, I don't know. I find it hard to believe he could get Kiffin, but his contract is up and maybe he'd rather work for his friend?

I think it's more likely he gets someone like Sark, who would probably be a great hire.

I don't have any "proof" just what I've heard from some folks connected at football OPS.

ETA: I would think Jimbo could convince Aranda to stay. Gonna be hard to find a better DC gig, so unless it's personal, I don't see why not.

Anyways, I really don't hate Jimbo. I'm sure he'll do a fine job.

I hate the cost, but it is what it is.

I want LSU to make a bolder, more inventive hire.

I just want to drop in and say if none of this ends up being true you should get a lifetime ban hammer.

You are talking about the most expensive seats outside of club. They should have more say than you.

I don't mind the cost. TAF has it, plus some. I just want to a known commodity come take over this program. I'm tired of seeing top 5 classes squandered.
