Gonzales or Monken = Bob McConnell ?

For those that are excited about Billy Gonzales or Todd Monken becoming LSU's offensive coordinator - let me remind you about Bob McConnell. LSU is too good of a program to give a coach his first shot at being a Coordinator. Sorry but LSU needs to hire someone with experience calling plays.

I am not for or against Gonzales or Monken. That neither has OC experience doesn't mean they won't be good.
I'm not sure who Bob McConnell is, but I'm sure your point is that he didn't set the world on fire in whatever position he was promoted to. For every Bob McConnell story, I'd imagine there is a Bob Stoops story-- someone who gets promoted to a higher position in a prominent conference-- and succeeds.
So, while I would prefer someone with experience, I am open-minded.

Bob McConnell...WR Coach under DiNardo in the late 90s who was elevated to OC upon Morris Watts' departure.

I think he was my middle school coach in 7th grade in 2003.....things didn't turn out so well for him.

Muschamp had 1 year at Valdosta State as DC before he became DC at LSU. Does that count?

Bob McConnell isn't to blame for Dinardo's lust for Booty. I still remember watching that last game versus a very good arkansas team when McConnell got to call the shots with Rohan Davey in the game and LSU murdered them. If anything, Dinardo is to blame for that fiasco.

I don't think anyones putting him down. I think teaming him up with Fuente could help evryone LSU, Gonzales, Fuente.
Billy could get a OC after a year or two, Fuente a HC if we win a NC.
