So some people on this board don't like Spurrier because he is 62 and think he wouldn't be motivated to recruit but you think Jimmy Johnson would be motivated coming from a no pressure high paying job back to a college program with high expectations in the toughest conference in the country?

I agree with your reasoning on why we shouldn't look at the Spurrier's of the world.

However, as much as I like Muschamp I think the LSU program is too big/succesful to chance handing it over to someone with NO HC experience.

Being a great coordinator and a great HC are two very different jobs and LSU is not the place for on the job training.

Find someone with HC experience that has been impressive at a smaller program. There's never any guarantees, but this model seems to work more often than not.
