Because, obviously it is current, what benefit Did Bama and Saban get by announcing a new deal to deflect the UT deal. I know bama got Saban and Nick got the coin, there's your consideration. But seems to me that a better strategic move in these situations, would be to have the university administration and the coach to stroke a deal behind closed doors, and then announce at the bowl game or something. That way you save face of being dictated by another university- for example now, UT just drove up Sabans price and Bama essentially got nothing more.
