FYI Regarding Coaches we're talking a lot about

I do not like our DCs, but it amazes me at what people call good.

They just seem to be carried away with PERCEPTION.
I guess I am too old for that.


with T Gill....I think he will be OK...
he is offense as you say, but still young aggressive and hungry.

Some people want Greg Robinson with comparably bad stats at Syracuse.

Sure it does. I just picked the three main categories and ran with it. I don't have an agenda here. I was reading a few posts and I felt I needed to check the stats of these teams, and the numbers suprised me a bit. I think that if you asked the average poster here to guess what Muschamps pass D would be ranked, they would've thought much higher than 109th. I also thought that people might be a little suprised at how LSU's rank fell out as compared to the hot topic coaches of the moment.

Scoring defense is just as main as any of those three. And posting rankings doesn't mean much. Including the numbers helps. Even then that doesn't tell the whole story.

That's not very good, from a ranking perspective. But, he has, I think, 2 freshman safeties and a sophomore back there in the secondary. Now, Muschamp is in his 1st season and has a pass from our fans(because he's coaching UT's defense, not our's) and because he took over a defense that returned members from the previous year that was allegedly one of the worst in decades at Texas and they haven't given up near the points they did last season(they gave up 40 td's and 329 points last year, and only 223 points and 27 Td's thus far this year and at last 6 of those points and 1 of those td's was from a McCoy pick 6). Basically, UT's defense had really nowhere to go but up.

And regardless of what other coach is doing at any other university, our defense is absolutely porous and our defensive coordinator(s) need to be relieved of their duties immediately after the bowl game. Harry Coleman, Curtis Taylor, Danny McCray, and Chris Hawkins didn't arrive on campus for the 1st time this fall.

If we want to compete for conference championships, we need one of the premier stop units in the conference and in all of college football and we don't have that and it'll be interesting to see who Miles picks to head up that project.
