I agree with another poster that commented on Herman staying at UH. Why would a young coach take the leap to a Power 5 school in this day in age of college football?
Take a couple million dollars, enjoy the Florida sunshine, fill a stadium that holds less people than the school's enrollment, & lap up some really quality Florida D1 talent that is not locked up by UF & FSU. Not to mention the high quality female talent that ends up at UCF.
Far less stress of expectations from the Board, AD, Boosters, & fans. I mean hell, all he has to do is NOT go 0-12 & the program improves.
Eta: the Oregon Duck twitter run to Coach Frost was pretty good.

If the reports of the Frost offer are accurate, Syracuse cannot legitimately expect to hire a single coach of quality.

Key was so god awful as OC that he got passed over for the interim gig, they wanted a break from the o'leary regime. UCF had to pay him 600k since he wasn't George's replacement.
