Ok.

I've been reserved in my comments about this coaching carousel. But now that the rumors are finally beginning to play out regarding LSU's coaching staff, there really is only one way to put it. Les Miles, Bo Pelini, and company have forsaken the LSU football team. I can't help feeling like these guys have come in, pillaged and raided the cupboard, and now are escaping through the back door with their loot.

In all of your years of watching football, has anyone EVER seen such a blatant disregard for morals, ethics, and professionalism? What they've done here is criminal in my opinion. To me, this entire season was about securing their future and stroking their egos. I can't believe ANYONE would want these guys! They've squandered an assured national championship and, worse, a bunch of impressionable kids. What do you think these student athletes will leave having learned?

I don't rant often, and haven't about this situation, but the situation with the team and coaches this year has gotten under my skin in a way I never thought it might. Maybe it's because I'm a professional educator in real life.

My question to you all: Should the general public, LSU board, etc. be content with how things unfolded with no consequences for these key leaders of the LSU football program? It has come very apparent that career maneuvers were underway for quite some time this season and that a good bit of damage will result from the decisions and actions of these coaches.

I guess you've never changed jobs to better your life for your family.

This is idiocy. I love LSU and football as much or more than anybody on here, but it is still a game. It's not like anybody put anybody else in harm's way.

a bunch of impressionable kids

Please, our players aren't kids. They are the same age as our soldiers fighting and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are not children. They can handle it.

Grow up.

great post. i could not agree more. LSU should withhold any pay still owed these coaches and ask them to clear their offices immediately. They have both obviously had their attention elesewhere for a number of weeks and it has cost LSU a shot at a championship.
In the real world of business, this would not be tolerated. When you flirt with the competition, you are usually fired or at least repremanded. Why is LSU not treating this situation this way? Skip was a great coach, but ahs proven time and time again that he can't handle this job. LSU should have been more proactive with Saban and did not learn a thing. THey should ahve been more proactive with Miles, but look to not have learned a thing. Fact is LSU is getting slapped in the face again and just turning the other cheek.
When are we going to punch back and actually show some control of our own destiny?
I sure hope that the powers that be have been anticipating this all for some weeks and have their guy ready to announce next week. That would at least show some forsight on our part and show that there is leadership and stability in Baton Rouge.
Forsaken is certainly the least description for this situation.

Agreed. Their brains are obviously not big enough to concentrate on Michigan / Nebraska and winning football games with a MNC on the freaking line. I am extremely pissed at Miles and Pelini. Their lack of focus was OBVIOUS. NEITHER ONE should be allowed to TASTE the SECCG. IF we don't happen to win, things could get ugly for those two. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Get THEM BOTH the F**K OUT before they steal or cost us any more recruits.

Well, considering I was educated through secondary school in Louisiana, I don't quite see your point. Nice try, though, chach.

LSU is not some second-tier school preparing for an Independence-type bowl. It's a program with very real expectations to win the national championship. As a head coach of an elite program, how you let these shenanigans go on so early in the seasonis beyond me--"dream job" or not.

It is what it is. Joe Paterno, Bobby Bowden and Frank Beamer all seem to be the dinosaurs these days.

The NCAA is such a fricking sham. Many coaches are just whores lubing up for their next John.

The BCS is pathetic, weak conference teams rule the day, rankings depend on the most ridiculous bullshite.

What do you base that on, their weak schedule?

Or LSU's losing 2?
