For those of you basing hope on the "inherent improvement" thesis...

The prevailing assumption is that O, through some unspecified alchemy, somehow radically improved since going 3-21 in the SEC at Ole Miss.

However, if O is really the type to "learn from his failures," why was his SEC record in his final year at Ole Miss worse than his record in his first two seasons there? Why didn't he learn from the countless humiliations of his first two seasons? His record over those three years doesn't show much of a penchant for effective self-analysis , learning, or adaption.

Moreover, even if he has learned, has he learned enough to win a title? Has he somehow gone from the worst coach in Ole Miss history to an elite NC CALIBER coach? There is just no proof of that. Even this season, he lost to the two best teams he faced, really the only good ones he faced.

For the record, I do think he'll fare better here than at Ole Miss because he has access to better talent and facilities and coordinators. He'll be a 9-3/8-4 type coach, but not a title winner, which is the whole point of playing CFB.
