He was head coach at UT in 2020, and went to the NFL for the 2021 season. This was his only season without a "coaching" gig, but he stayed close to college football. He really hasn't been "gone" for long, just quickly forgotten.
I agree, he'll do well at FAU...and get a bigger job pretty quickly. He has a lot of work to do at FAU first, though, and he'll need a good DC.
