I think Mullen is likely safe this year.
His remaining schedule is @ South Carolina, Samford, @ Mizzou and Florida State. Those are all games Florida should win rather easily (i.e., teams even worse than LSU.) If they do win those games, they will be 8-4 a year after a trip to the SECCG.
I do think he will have to offer up defensive coordinator Todd Grantham as a ritual sacrifice. Pretty normal stuff, as Grantham's incompetence in reacting to the totally vanilla running game that LSU used to gash him.
I'm not particularly eager to deal with Florida also having an opening this year, but I think that won't happen.
Lose to Florida State? Well, the calculus changes. A lot.
