Ed Orgeron should have stayed on USC til he got another gig

Nobody seems to want the man as an HC. He was being offered to be paid the highest asst coach salary in the country. Man go his feelings hurt and made an emotional decision. Which BTW is why is not really HC material.

he is a decent assistant and plus recruiter. he will never be taken seriously as the face of a major CFB program. The Yaw Yaw stereotype is absolutely real

He can land many DC slots paying near what USC would've paid, for his recruiting prowess, and locker room persona alone.
After his Old Myth debacle in the W-L column, he was never gonna have a better platform than USC talent and 6-2 interim finish of a weak Kiffin season start to try springboard towards HC status at USC or other solid program opening.
He made the right call. It says I'm a HC, not a Coordinator, not an Interim. He'll get a gig, might be a CUSA-grade program, but he's worked enough magic these last few weeks to climb back from failed HC status on the job market's perception-meter.

Ed is a top 3 recruiter in the country. He can go just about anywhere to do that. Im sure he wouldnt mind taking a year off and watching his son play HS ball.

I hope he stays out of the SEC. It's already a cesspool of recruiting filth. Ogre would add radioactivity.

I don't think the man is hurting for money. If he's been thinking with half his brain since he's been in coaching, then he's socked away enough over the years to be more than ok.

staying on the staff at USC does not keep him from other jobs and keeps him employed. Why quit? Why not just keep you job and line up a bigger gig?

USC gave him a FAT check to just walk away. No new coach would want the job, if fan and player favorite is still on staff. 0-3 start to next season...what is every one asking for? He was PAID to walk away.
