The state championship game was possibly the worst coaching job I have ever seen. Bourgeois single-handedly lost that game.
I was glad to see him go. At the same time, disappointed in his replacement that will probably be gone within the next couple of years.

There are "politics" involved in every coaching hire. I would say having the qualifications that EA was looking for in a coach/AD and a good track record as a coach would be the most likely reasons he got the job.
Dennis Lorio had more connections than any of the 4 candidates and can "politic" with the best of them and still did not get the job.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Lorio would have been the political hire.

Not sure what to think about what offense EA will run under P. Bourgeois, but one thing is for sure another unsuccessful one dimensional run offense would be a disaster for the fans. Lets hope his offense is more balanced than run only, if not he should hire a good OC and let him be in charge of it.

That's what I was thinking as well. He has been living in that area for awhile now and his wife has at least 10-12 years in that school district. Seems like if they wanted a good ol boy they had him right there in the interview room.

Lorio's better days are past him now. His last few Thibodaux teams have been some of the worst coached and most undisciplined teams I've seen.(Hike it to Trovon Reed and watch him go out of bounds because he ain't gettin hit)
