Does the next coach matter as much as the next quarterback?

Going back to 2003, Saban is the only coach winning titles without a 1st round QB. The exceptions are 2006 Florida, when Meyer, Mullen, and Strong won with undrafted Chris Leak and 2007 when Miles won with Matt Flynn. (Saban at Miami and 1st year at bama). Also, Meyer and Herman in 2014.

2011 and 2012 McCarron drafted 164
2015 Jake Coker undrafted free agent, released
Everyone else:
2004 Matt Leinart drafted 10
2005 Vince Young drafted 3

2013 Jameis Winston drafted 1

Yes, these are the exceptions I noted at the beginning of the post.
ETA: and 2005-2007 didn't have to contend with the Saban machine.

I think you should take a look at the OC/QB-Coach for those teams.
Jimbo, Urban/Mullen, McElwain, Kiffin.....

This is dumb. A QB is absolutely worthless without a QB coach and a playcaller. As evidenced by LSU the last 10 years.
