Does a new OC really for sure cost LSU next season?

I've been reading a lot of people on this board and the Rant claiming LSU should NOT fire Crowton because it will hurt us next year on offense and we can't risk it.
If I am not mistaken, did we not hire an almost entirely new offensive staff outside of Porter and Henson in 2007?
We brought in Crowton, McCarthy, and Studs all in that year, and we had a "historic" offense and won an NC. Do people actually think that by bringing in someone else this year will make our offense worse than it was this season? We have precedent to show it will likely not.

I guess it would depend on whether the OC would try to institute his own system whole horse or adapt to what the players knew.

I don't think so. When your offense is at the very bottom, you can only go up. Look what Gus Malzahn did at Auburn in 2009. In less that a year he turned their offense around.

The great majority of these Crowton supporters are thugs from other schools opening accounts here and posting support for Crowton hoping he stays and our program falls into eternal demise. Don't listen to these sleezballs. Alleva knows what he has to do.

There is just no way Miles will forfeit the 2010 season and wait for a new OC to install "his" system. If Crowton leaves, whoever the new OC is will have to convince Miles his shite will work immediately. And that can certainly happen. Even if he has to adapt some of Crowton's terminology to make the transition smoother for the players.

2007? It didn't cost us jack. Simplifying the offense is the best possible thing that could happen.

Quick question. Why would Miles have Crowton on the recruiting trail at High School games for the 2011 recruiting class if he plans on shite canning him? Your takes???????

Miles is taking a risk by keeping him. Statstically, we cannot get any worse on offense. My biggest concern is that Crowton has not, and will not learn from mistakes made this year. Bad playcalling, poor utilization of talent, continuing plays that don't work, stop doing what is working, no pass plays for Shepard, etc...if any of this continues I think not only Crowton, but Miles will be in lots of trouble.

Didn't Malveto continue recruiting up until signing day? I'm expecting Miles to do like he always does; wait until Crowton and McCarthy find other jobs.
