I'm just curious as to what would separate him from Sumlin and Strong.

Great point it just proves it is always a gamble when you hire a head coach. There is no doubt that the safest bet of the current names being bantered around is Fisher, he doesn't even have a close second behind him. But I don't think Fisher is a viable option no matter what was said last year. I honestly believe what happened last year was all about Sexton getting Fisher paid. He has a great gig in at FSU, they love him there, it is in the ACC so always has a shot at getting into the college playoffs, and he will normally only have 1 or 2 teams he has to worry about beating in the ACC. Just doesn't make any sense for him to leave on top of having to play Saban every year in a heated rivalry.

So if you take his name out of the mix, every other name has issues with it also. To me Herman is worth a shot.

3 distinctly different paths. In the next 2 years.

One coach will get fired

One coach will get an extension

One coach will get a new job
