Did Gonzalez Know Urban would change his mind?

my take is Urban told him he was leaving, but he figured Urban would change his mind and take a sabbatical instead. BG then confronted UM with this and asked if he would get to run practice while Urban was on leave. Urban told him no and he takes the position with LSU. Because why else would he make a lateral move like this, knowing that Urban would really be staying and taking a sabbatical??

This is stupid. BG left because he couldn't move up with CUM. Heck for all we know, BG got his butt chewed for the poor performance of the wide receivers in the SECCG. Who knows, Who cares!
Bottom line, BG left to improve his resume and get to the next level. He has to show he can work with a variety of coaches in different organizations in order to do this. He also has to be willing to move around. LSU is a stepping stone that will allow him to show more of his potential. CLM will let him coach and not control him. People move all the time to improve their resume and move up. Sometimes you can move up faster if you are willing to do this.
Besides, from what i hear CLM is great to work for. LSU is a great place to work. SO why not come to LSU even if its a lateral?
Remember 4 head coaches and one in waiting came from LSU coaching ranks just in the last few years. LSU on a resume carries a lot of weight I guess.
