Trying to get this straight...my Dad says he turned us down last year, and I told him that wasn't the case. Then he sends me an article today from the advocate where Kleinpeter says he did turn us down? I thought he never had a chance to accept or deny the job as we pulled the plug last minute due to the media frenzy....do we really not know, or was he in the bag?

I don't think anyone not involved really knows for sure. I tend to believe it was a little bit of both, he was never formally offered the job (technically there was no vacancy for him to be formally offered) and he may not have been interested since the season wasn't completely over yet.

The most interesting thing to me after it all is that he never got a raise out of FSU over it, normally coaches get nice fat raises after being linked to jobs like he was. That could be telling.

Not true. I know someone close to the situation. That is all I can/will say.

I don't believe that we actually went to Jimbo with a formal offer and made him tell us no. I believe that we kicked the tires on his interest, but I do not believe he was formally offered the job. Big difference in the two to me.

The lack of information about this program is surprising quite frankly. In every other program boosters close to the AD spill the whole story after the fact. I know why we picked Sherman, the entire story of why the titbag five star QB came and left, and the entire courtship of Chavis for example.

Joe must not trust very many people.

I agree with that 100% and I think he has proven it without a shadow of a doubt, but as a non LSU fan I am trying to avoid statements that are opinions but might be perceived as trolls on this forum.

There was never a job opening so there was nothing for him to turn down.

There was most likely a negotiation in which Jimmy Sexton ate Joe Alleva's lunch, which led to a total CF, which resulted in Miles staying.
