No matter who we hire that might be the case!!!! But the beauty of LSU is now, thanks to Saban, the entire college community understands the depth, talent and breath of Louisiana recruits. And since LSU is and will always be the ONLY power 5, and SEC conference, team in the state of Louisiana we will always be able to pull in the recruits into LSU even if we have a few bad years from a HC before he is fired. LSU will be able to bounce back quicker from a bad hire than a Tennesse to give an example. That is not what we want but there is the silver lining in a bad coaching hire scenario.

There are tons of examples of coaches blowing up and going home to their roots and the fans of those teams loving it because those coaches are homegrown. That dynamic will never change!!! Whether Coach Oeaux is the right coach for LSU, I don't know but what I do know is that there is no conspiracy within the Louisiana press to promote Coach Oeaux, the Louisiana people will always pull for a HOMEGROWN candidate whether he is the right man for the job or not! Wake up, that is just how life works there isn't a conspiracy or a campaign from the media to promote Coach Oeaux!

I think the Jimbo deal got screwed up last year, which was a HUGE screw up! Miles should have been fired last year period end of story. I have been saying to fire MIles for the past 3 years and I was right. As much as I like Miles personally, the LSU job had passed him by since the 2011 NC game. He no longer wanted to learn and excel he just wanted to maintain and you can't do that is the uber-competitive SEC west.

But for all those "Fisher at all costs crowd" there are some concerning factors that people just refuse to look at. Fisher's record since 2014 is "2014: 13-1, 2015: 10-3 and so far 2016: 7-3" these past 2 years he has not won the ACC in what everyone in the SEC thinks as an inferior conference. Now the past 2 years Fisher has been steeped in an ugly divorce with an ex-wife caught cheating on him with ex-FSU and UF athletes which has to be EXTREMELY embarrassing for him, not to mention his son's illness which also weighs on Jimbo you can be sure of that. Now if Jimbo is hired the family issues will come as a packaged deal with him so those distractions won't be alleviated especially if Candi starts banging the world in Baton Rouge like she has in Tally. And whether anyone wants to hear this or not, I can promise you that takes a toll on the mental edge you have to have in the position Jimbo is in. How much of an effect it has on his work, I don't know but I know from experience through a messy divorce it does affect your business. I am not saying you can attribute the recent downturn in FSU's performance on Jimbo's personal life, but it would be stupid to think it hasn't had some sort of effect. Maybe a new venue is exactly what is needed for Jimbo, I don't know. But what I do know is if Jimbo is hired, his family issues come with him for better and for worse.

If we hire Jimbo I will say it is a good hire, if we hire Herman I will say it is a good hire. But I am not in the crowd that we have to hire an Offensive minded coach to compete. There is that old adage "defense wins championships" and the reason it is said is because it is true. Take Saban, no matter what anyone here wants to think he is literally the best college coach of all time and he is a DEFENSIVE minded coach. He was just smart to understand that he has to hire an OC that is up to speed on the current trends on the offensive side of the ball which is why he hired Kiffin. That wasn't his style of offense but he saw that you need both offense and defense to be current to win NC's.

This is what I want for LSU a Defensive minded coach that is smart enough to hire a brilliant OC to help his defense out. But if that isn't available then an Offensive minded coach that realizes that defenses win championships and I think Fisher is that type of coach. But make no mistake Defense wins championships you don't have to look further than the hated Gumps to prove that!!!!!!!

Regarding Coach Oeaux he is winning and that is all we as fans can ask of him. Being asked to beat Bama with someone else's offense is unrealistic but LSU held Bama to a season-low 10pts and if we had a modern day offensive scheme maybe the outcome would have been different. But it is clearly evident to me that Coach Oeaux understands that our offense is outdated and that is the first thing he is going to change if given the opportunity.

What people seem to really have a hard time dealing with is Coach Oeaux can't be a CEO of a big-time program because he failed at Ole Piss and that means he will fail at LSU. You learn your biggest lessons in failing not succeeding ask any CEO that, you learn what not to do so you don't fail again. As a former CEO of two very successful companies I sold and am now retired I can tell you that being a CEO is not difficult it is a pretty simple formula; make the important and tough decisions to take the company "or team" in the direction you feel is the best to achieve success and then hire a great team below you that you can delegate everything else so that you don't burn out. Coach Oeaux didn't believe in that as he admitted he was too wrapped up in everything that was done at Ole Piss and he didin't delegate like he should have. He said he understood his mistake and won't do it again because he believes that is what lead to his failure, and he is right. Now at USC and LSU he is proving he did learn from his mistake and he is not making the same ones anymore. AS SOMEONE WHO HAS HIRED PEOPLE TO RUN A BUSINESS THAT IS HUGE!!!

Regarding a program like LSU the lifeblood of success is RECRUITING FIRST, why do you think Bama has won 4 NC's in the past 7 years and it looks like after this year it will be 5 in the past 8 years. This is directly correlated to Bama having the top recruiting class 5 out of the past 8 years!!! He has more dudes that are better than everyone else's dudes, it is literally that simple. Next you hire the right coaches to coach up your players and bingo you win NC's. Now that is a simplistic analysis but it is pretty close to what needs to be done.

Fisher is a great recruiter we all know that so LSU's recruiting will be just fine if he is our next coach. Herman although I think he is a good recruiter he doesn't have the years as a HC to absolutely prove that, so with him it is a quasi-gamble imo. Coach Oeaux is another great recruiter we all know that so LSU's recruiting won't miss a beat and in fact, it might improve slightly. What is uncertain about Oeaux is, if he has learned his lesson that he needs to let his coaches coach and stay out of their way unlike Miles did and what Oeaux did at Ole Piss he should be successful. What the interim job at USC and LSU has shown so far is that Oeaux has learned that lesson, whether the anti-Oeaux crowd wants to hear that or not.

So if we hire Fisher, hopefully his personal issues he has to deal with won't have an impact on his performance, and if that is the case LSU will be in great shape imo and I am all in on the hire.

If we hire Herman again I feel LSU will be in great shape if his recruiting is on par with a Miles, Fisher or Oeaux, if not we are fricked and you can take that to the bank.

If we hire Oeaux, looking at what he did at USC and now at LSU it appears he has learned tremendously from his Ole Piss days and that one lesson - let your coaches do what they were hired to do - unlike Miles did an Oeaux did at Ole Piss - I truly believe he will be successful. Could I be wrong? Absolutely but the Fisher and Herman hires aren't the slam dunks that people believe they are. Every candidate has it's issues, this hire is about getting it right but not being closed minded. A perfect example did anyone really believe Saban would end up being the BEST college coach of ALL TIME, when we hired him from Michigan State? Exactly, no one did!!!! And after Bellicheck got fired from the Browns, did anyone think he would become the best coach in the pro's? Again no one did!
