if chavis comes who will les go out and get?
I think some of our recruits on the defensive side are waiting to see who will be coaching there.
who ya got?

I don't have a strong preference. Rumors have been rampant that Corey Raymond will be promoted from GA to DB coach. I believe that Larry Slade (former UT DB coach with Chavis) would also be an exceptionally good hire.

What is the scoop/ resume on this coach.
I know nothing about him.
A poster on here last week, claimed to be a family member and it's done, he is coming on board as the DB coach..
Thanks

Out of New Iberia, was a cornerback for LSU during the unfortunate Mike Archer/Curley Hallman era(s). Went undrafted in 1992, but caught on with the Giants and played three seasons with them, then three seasons with the Lions before calling it quits. Lately he has been a GA (for DBs) on LSU's staff. I didn't pick up on the fact that he had come home until people started mentioning him as a possible answer at DB coach.
I remember him as a smart player who used hard work and smarts to maximize his athletic ability. That is reinforced by the fact that, while undrafted, he played corner for two different NFL teams.

we must get coach O if we're hiring inexperienced DB coaches, missing out on willis and walker.

Wasn't the LSU DB's lost the entire season? I like Corey as a Tiger, but our DB's performed poorer than anytime I can remember. Secondly, I am just not getting this facination with Coach O. The DC ( Chvis / Walker ) are the key hire and I would like a more seasoned DB coach.
