The same could be said for Bill Clark. I think a lot of it has to do with a lack of connections and relationships in P5 circles. Clark has coached in Alabama his entire career, most of it at the high school level.

Reeves has been an assistant under Clark for 8 seasons. He spent a season at UT-Martin prior fo joining Clark. Before that he spent five or six seasons at DII Southern Arkansas.

Most young coaches in FBS bounce around a lot within FBS as they move up the coaching ladder. They build connections and relationships with other coaches and administrators along the way.

Sometimes it takes more than stats and film to generate buzz. It takes a network of other coaches you’ve work for or with to sing your praises. I’m not sure Reeves has that.
