Lol, look at the down votes you are getting. There are only a few college fanbases with a following of people dumb enough to still want a pro style offense, and LSU is one of them.

The term spread doesn’t mean anything anymore. It is thrown around and attached to everything from air raid to option. One system requires a passing QB who can move around, and the other an athlete who can pass enough to keep the defense honest. They are almost polar opposites with the same label slapped on.
There are plenty of programs winning and putting ip huge numbers with pass-first offenses. That will never change, and it isn’t necessarily “Pro Style.”
What Canada is running here is closer to a flexbone than traditional pro style, but most wouldn’t consider it a spread. However, we know it can be successful, even against Bama. The labels don’t matter.
All that said, I don’t want Dan Enos. Grab Baby Briles and watch the QB commits roll in.

I know, the spread is so diverse.
Air raid (Hal Mumme)
- Air Raid (Mike Leach and his followers)
- Bear Raid (Art Briles and his followers)
- Air Raid + a power run game (Lincoln Riley)
Read Option - Rich Rodriguez
- spread option (Chip Kelly/Urban Meyer at UF)
- power spread (Tom Herman/Gus Malzahn)

Yeah I know. I called for Mike Gundy a lot last year. With the OC he got a couple years back, his team actually incorporates a good run game to balance it.
quote:yeah it's a multiple offense. Actually, with the right QB, it can be a dangerous offense, but if he's gone, I want a guy that runs an air raid with a power running game, or a power spread offense (similar to what Clemson runs).

quote:I agree with this. IMO, LSU must dedicate itself to passing the ball heavily. It may be painful the first year, but it will bare fruit for the future. Right now LSU is averaging 65.7 plays per game with only 22.3 coming from the passing game. If LSU raises that number to 32 and actually pass on all levels, it could bust this offense wide open.

I’m with you on pretty much everything there. If Canada leaves, I’m not for going crazy up tempo because of the negative effects on the defense, but a balance air raid would be perfect.
Living in Memphis, I have watched a ton of the other Tigers and I absolutely LOVE Norvell’s offense. He has actually dialed back the tempo and it has really helped their defense over the back half of the season. They can run inside or outside. The backs catch out of the backfield. They go downfield for big plays. Riley Ferguson (a former UT 3rd string reject, by the way) can run just enough to keep defenses honest. In their absolute decimation of ECU Saturday, I think they had seven different offensive players score eight touchdowns. That kind of offense would be a huge hit at LSU if implemented correctly.

He is solid. shite Oline and BB held him back this year.

Why is everyone thinking Canada is gone? Where would he go, realistically?

That's because both are tards. Texas is worse because that's the best offensive outpot they've had since Colt McCoy.

Enos should definitely be on our list. Go ahead and offer 1.6 to whoever Clemson has too

Enos was kept on the short leash by Bert.
He can go as wide open as you'd want in a true pro style out of the shotgun.
He be great at LSU.

Chaney is going to "retire" after this season and we're going to grab Enos.

Pass.
The idea that LSU has to be a "pro style" offense really is kind of ridiculous.

Enos needs to position himself as a top candidate for the Michigan State job when Dantonio retires. Enos is in his late 40s and Dantonio is in his early 60s.

Is Auburn considered a pro style offense? It seemed like it to me and they fared pretty well with Alabama.
