Why would he leave...he can't believe how successful he has been here and probably is smart emough to know he couldn't do it again if he tried at Michigan...just sayin'.
If something happens with JH like he has a change of heart or the Michigan site are just being homers on his view of their HC job, then Les will be candidate B IMO. After that I think they'd probably just stand pat with RR. I haven't seen any other names pop up for them, definitely Hoke is a BS one. As for Malzahn, no one other than Vandy is offering a contract like they did to him.

I think Stanford AD has an extension for JH waiting on the table
It's been there for at least a week and he still has not signed it. Take from that what you will.
I would like for him to come here but I dunno.

Me personally, I wouldn't be opposed to him, and most of the people I know wouldn't either. He's actually who we (myself and friends) wanted in 2007 in the first place. There is a large contingency of people though who aren't interested in hiring him anymore. Like I said before, right now the word up here is Harbaugh or stick with RR. That doesn't mean DB will listen. He very well could be interested in Miles, but I'm guessing not. I've already listed other reasons in this thread as to why I don't think he'll come or even be asked this time around. I think he's a great coach, but other people up here for whatever reason aren't that impressed with him anymore, which I think is stupid.

I don't understand why Michigan fans scoff at Miles as a potential head coach after Harbaugh passes.
blame espn for all the sec games that are seen in michigan. that would be a distinct possibility

Not so much scoff at LM, but there is real concern about what happens now. There is limited trust with this new AD. Yes, he is a quality CEO and has cleaned up the Ath Dept and polished the brand (Big Chill, night game vs ND next year, etc.) a bit, but he has not made any significant hire, so there is doubt. He is a smart guy, re-built a multi-billion $$ business from the "scraps" left by Tom Monohagn at Dominos. I think he wants JH. I think the majority of the fan and alums want JH. But if that is not to be, and considering that U. Meyer is out there, he might stay with RR a year and see if he can't land Meyer in 12 mos. Again, all assuming JH is not going to be available. Unlike the Carr retirement, I don't think Brandon feels the pressure of an immediate coaching change. I think he would change for JH, but if JH is not there I don't think he is running around with his hair on fire looking for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice. I think he rebuilds the D-staff with RR to make it through 2011, all the while looking for a "significant" hire that might be made for 2012. RR might hit a homerun in 2011 and Brandon looks better and could keep him, but if not, RR would have been an OK crutch to get him to a desirable hire next year (again all assumes JH will not come now or later).
