I agree with this, but with one caveat.
I'm not 100% convinced Chip Kelly is out of play. There was a rumor that Kelly's reps reached out to the LSU administration.
I'd have Kelly (if available) as #1, with Herman as a close #1b.

I agree it is less of an issue after seeing how poorly Kelly has done in the NFL, but you never know. I think with Meyer staying in College with no aspirations to the NFL I would think his coaching tree probably has the same thoughts.

If you learned anything from last year it should be clear to most that fisher is who alleva wants.

Doesn't look like Meyer has any reason whatsoever to leave OSU any time soon.
JMO - if Herman really wanted the Texas or USC jobs, he'd stay at Houston until one of those spots became available as opposed to going to LSU and then jumping to one of those gigs.

No doubt, but Meyer has left a job in his prime before. He could retire or get in NCAA trouble. Point is, you never know.

I don't think he'd want USC right now. They're kind of a dumpster fire and they replaced a horrid AD with a worse one.
Strong could be at Texas for another 5-10 years or something and Herman isn’t waiting on that.
I just meant in the future, if those teams were ripe for Herman, I think he'd bolt. LSU fans need a reality check sometimes.

Fisher is the safest hire of all the candidates there is no doubt about it, the fans will be happy, the players happy and the big money donors will be happy but I don't think he is the best choice and I truly don't know how much he would love having to coach against his good, good friend in Saban on an annual basis in a heated rivalry. I could be totally off on that but I do think that is a big factor. Also Fisher has a GREAT gig at FSU playing in the ACC only has to worry about a couple of schools to vie for a title against them. I just don't see it, no matter what happened last year. One thing people have to understand is that SEXTON is the best agent at getting his client paid and I think that is what he did last year and I know that is what is going to happen again this year for Jimbo, he is going to get paid.

I think Kelly is a very good college coach, and if he did decide to leave the NFL someone is going to get a heck of a coach I just don't like him to LSU. Again can't put my finger on it, which means there is not intellectual thought behind it, just don't like him to LSU.

Chip Kelly would absolutely wreck shite at LSU.
With our athletes, size, talent, defense, etc. and his new knowledge gained from the NFL, he would tear our opponents a new a-hole.

Well there is no denying it look what he did at Oregon and look what they have done since then. I said in a previous post on this thread that Kelly is a very good college coach and I do believe he would do well at LSU. Just something sticks with me regarding him can't put my finger on it just appears that he is always looking for something else.

Well, he was always looking for NFL opportunity and was fired. And now he's giving the NFL a second opportunity.
Basically he's Saban, but he's going to fail in 2 NFL locations instead of 1 before resigning to the fact he'll be a career college coach and could build a dynasty and retire a hero somewhere.

You do know that I'm talking about his NFL record right? Kelly with our athletes would be ridiculous. He recruited some very good defensive players as well

Well this is your opinion of course, but its Fisher imo. He has coached here before, knows the SEC like the back of his hand...and has NC under his belt. Herman is none of those things, so good luck getting him IF Fisher does want to come here.

It won't happen because I think he gets a few years in San Fran, but Chip Kelly would be as big of a homerun hire as possible at LSU.
We'd dominate people.
The only thing holding him back at Oregon was the fact he had a terrible recruiting base and too much competition in California for those kids.
He would walk into a talent situation unlike anything he's ever seen in college. It would be unreal.
But again, he isn't getting fired this year.

Cat I don't disagree with you, I think his run in the NFL is about done and he comes back to college. But I would have thought that last year also prior to him getting the SF job and he took that job so I don't know he is so egotistical maybe he feels he belongs in the NFL.
Like I said can't put my finger on it just feel he would be a short timer at LSU if hired, but if he did come to LSU one thing is for sure that score board will light up.
