I've thought all along that O's intensity and in-your-grill 'tude are exactly what the Dr. ordered, esp. with his experience in SEC. with Saints, not so much. BUT

Would CLM even pick up the phone for O? Isn't there bad blood re: recruiting 'tween them? If all water under bridge, I say O jumps on LSU over Tenn, family situation just makes it easier already in state.

There is also a new rumor (in two parts, actually): First involves the Saints (and I don't follow them at all, haven't in over a decade, so forgive me) - the Saints are considering an overhaul on the defensive coaching side of the house (can't fire players...). O's only been there a year, but might get caught up in that (but he is also mentioned as a possible retain from that side of the staff). That uncertainty might be a change driver for him to consider more of these NCAA position coaching jobs than he might have, ordinarily.

Second, Carroll is rumored to be interested in rehiring Orgeron.

SO... there could be some interesting, LSU-related discussions in a St. Tammany Parish living room over the next few days....

ETA: There are also rumors that Orgeron has already turned Kiffin down.
