Why all the fuss about this guy? LSU just beat Ga Tech by 35pts without him.

Outside of LSU and Tenn there's no interest in the guy. Even the Saints are looking forward to moving on without him - per the Times Pic.

I think people liked the intensity that he brings. Many felt that our d lacked intensity this year b/c we didn't have an in your face coach like orgeron. A lot of fans, me included, felt that our d line under performed this year. He's coached some pretty stout d lines at Miami and USC. Not to mention his recruiting prowess. Overall, most think he would have been a great fit for our d. So I think that is what the fuss was about.

BamaMike, I'm with you. His personality and Cajun roots appeal to lots of Tiger fans. His DL's have not performed well, and we, like you and the Tide, do not need a rainmaker recruiter becasue we already have great recruiters in our HC's ,assistants, and our local / regional appeal with high schools and players. O has a lot of doun side though.

The reason I wanted him was to keep him from recruiting for UT (he just happens to be a good DL coach). We all know Saban and Meyer are good recruiters, and UT used to have a presence in La. O will spark that again, and then we have Muschamp/Mack in Texas. We are now surrounded by very good recruiters who will hammer the state.

Yes, we have it locked down now, but why make it hard on yourself when you could hire O and he could pretty much lock down most of La. by himself. Wasn't meant to be...so we need to make sure we get a great DL coach and a solid recruiter to fill his place.

Intensity and good recruiter. Think we can and will do better with another DL coach. Anyway, now we'll get more competition for LA recruits. Y'all can expect more intensity on the AL recruting front as well.

Great DL COACH first and foremost. No more of those guys that can BS and recruit, but can't coach a lick.........

just wait and see...UT will start showing up on recruit's lists starting next year

like Bama, it's going to be very hard for them to take one from us, but the more chances you give to other schools the more likely it is to happen eventually
