1. Aranda is Riley’s Daddy
2. Aranda can adjust to changes. He can stop spread, power, whatever is thrown out there he figures it out. What if SEC teams figure out how to stop Riley’s O. Can he adjust?
3. Riley has gotten blown out in CFP. It’s ok to lose but at least be competitive. They looked like they didn’t belong there. When was the last time you’ve seen Bama get blown out?
4. Riley acted like a whiny b*tch after the Baylor loss

1. Aranda

That's not a choice most would be pissed about. A lot just feel that between the two, Riley is the one they would rather.

2. He knows LSU, will be cheaper, and has proven he can beat the brakes off just about anyone including Lincoln Riley

Baylor (Aranda) lost to Oklahoma (Riley) last year. Aranda owns Riley is recency bias.

Because Riley has hit his ceiling as a coach and hasn’t won shite after taking over the powerhouse built by someone else

You were making at least solid points until now. Hit his ceiling at 38?
Maybe he hit his ceiling at Oklahoma.

Oh and the rumored salary is absurd for a proven loser.

Proven loser? He's 54-9. You consider that a proven loser, but want 10-9 Aranda.

Urban or Rhule

Rhule is highly unlikely to leave the NFL right now.

If Urban were to leave the NFL, he would probably take years off.

Both fit LSU better

What does this mean? I was told Orgeron was a perfect "fit" as well. How'd that work out?

he understands the culture which is different than other jobs

How is it different?

Offenses come and go but a great defensive coach is always gonna be a contender.

So Riley isn't always a contender? Isn't he regularly in the playoffs? How is that not a contender?

Riley has gotten blown out in CFP

45-34 loss to #1 Bama
54-48 2 OT loss to #1 UGA
37-17 loss to #1 Clemson

He gets "blown out" every time? Yes, LSU beat the breaks off of them, but they beat the shite out of everybody. Do we also not want Saban because LSU made him their bitch that year?

The Riley haters are pointing to 2 games. When Aranda beat him last week, and when LSU blew OU out, while ignoring the larger sample size.

I'd rather Riley over Aranda.

I'd rather Aranda over Jimbo.

You forgot the blowout loss to LSU. The Bama game was over at half time. OU scored late. The Clemson game wasn’t as close as the score. The UGA game was the only competitive loss

Well the coach I wanted is gone to TCU. You snooze you lose. Matt Cambell. Aranda os my second choice.

Both have done more with less with regard to talent. Seems they both may have a better understanding of the defensive side of the ball. That said they would both need a lot of help with recruiting.

IMHO Riley is a whiner and lacks the toughness needed in the brutal SEC west.

I do like DA, but to to act like hiring him wouldn't have some risk involved is ridiculous.

Look, I like the idea of either, but both have their positives and their negatives.
The risk with Riley is when he was given the head job at Oklahoma, it was already an established, stable program by the previous coach. He was groomed for THAT job. He knew the lay of the land and only had to be passed the keys. He won’t have that here. He’ll have to do all that on his own, more or less. He’ll inherit a roster that he doesn’t know. He’s not as familiar with what it takes to compete and win in the SEC. There will almost certainly be growing pains.

With Aranda, it’s almost the exact opposite, except for the fact that the growing pains will be different.

I think there’s less question marks regarding recruiting, given Riley’s knowledge about closing with recruits. But I don’t think Aranda can’t recruit. I think Aranda will attract more defensive players and Riley will attract more offensive players.

Both would have to make excellent hires for assistant coaches opposite their specialty.

2017 OK's QB was Baker Mayfield - Lost to Kirby Smart
2018 OK's QB was Kyler Murray - Lost to Nick Saban
2019 OK's QB was Jalen Hurts - Lost to Ed Orgeron
2020 OK's QB was Spencer Rattler - Beat Dan Mullen

Regular Season Losses

2020 - Kansas State at home, Iowa State on the road
2019 - Kansas State on the road
2018 - Texas
2017 - Iowa State at home

This season, they've lost to Baylor, and won by one possession vs Tulane, Nebraska, West Virginia, Kansas State, and Texas.

His success could be attributed to inheriting a good program from Bob Stoops, along with Baker Mayfield. Texas has proven to be very weak, and that makes the entire Big 12 suspect.

His teams have had horrible defenses.

Riley is NOT the slam dunk win we're pretending he is.

If I had my druthers, I'd want Aranda.
