I feel mighty damn good about the possibility of Chavis/Vance/Orgeron. That's a top notch combo IMO. Some people just aren't happy people. Never will be. At least until LSU has a season where they don't allow a point all season while the offense averages 50 points, win the SEC and the crystal ball.

Come on people, lets get real here. If we get these 3 we'll be in good shape.

I am just trying to see why others are excited.

Lets see, Chavis was was able to keep his job at an elite SEC school for well over a decade. At WORST Chavis is a pretty good SEC coordinator.

With Chavis we may have 2 NFL caliber position coaches, both of which can recruit extremely well.

So Chavis + one or two NFL caliber position coaches = at worst a good SEC defensive coaching staff; and at best one of the best defensive coaching staffs in the SEC.

Randy Sanders was able to remain employed at UT from 1991 - 2005 also. Its not the biggest badge of honor ever.

Chavis' defenses are sound fundamentally, and his CBs and safeties have always come up and laid the big licks. He will find a spot for Chad Jones and develop him to his full potential.

Another plus is he will not have a learning curve in the SEC next year: he has game-planned against FL, AL, and GA for the past 14 years.

I'm excited about this, and if we get O and Joseph, then I think its the best possible scenario.

I think it's a solid hire, not necessarily GREAT, but solid.. Not at all saying he couln't be great, but we'll see. I definately think its a giant step up from where we were tho...

I understand that.....
I guess if it is true and I were Miles I would CYA also..first and foremost.
I can see his not wanting to attract any negatives, we have had enough of them.

what is he really noted for
