Mike Detillier reported on Jordy's show this morning that Chavis has expressed interest in coaching at LSU but has not been contacted and that he only received a courtesy interview at Clemson because he is from the area.

Might as well guess with the rest of the rant. All this talk about Les interviewing with this coach or that one is just talk until LSU or Les Miles officially confirms it. Speculation is all we're getting here, but some are calling it fact.

Maybe Les took the advice of the Rant and is working on Jack del Rio.

God, I hope this isn't true, as my already shaky belief in Miles would only be further cemented.

Whether you hire Chavis or not, to not have interviewed him yet, given his resume, is absolutely beyond moronic.

Saban is a Specialist, he and Bama will march forward..

Miles is a Generalist, he and LSU's Sabanesque minutiae were withering away until the last of his players left..thank God that LSU is still raking in topflight ballers!

I said last year after attending games, and watching a few GIC practices to some fellas there, LSU was in for a fall next year, unless they get back to the finer details that were withering away and not being coached..instead they dumbfounded me this year with a greater slide than I even expected.

The Lax Tax was long forthcoming..it came due in 2008!

Maybe he hasn't had the time to talk to Chavis cause he is busy doing multiple interviews with Croom.

What I've heard:

Chavis has been offered the Clemson job and they are waiting on him to accept or decline. He's waiting to see if LSU or UGA is possibly open after the bowls. If not (and no NFL Offers are made), he takes Clemson.

Miles' top targets are D. Walker, G. Edwars, J. Tenuta -- I thought Chavis was in the mix, but it sounds like he is not.

This is giving me a headache. Last week Chavis' name was thrown around like it was done. This week it looks like Walker is the leader. Who will it be next week?
